Fire Chief Charged with Criminal Mischief after Allegedly Vandalizing Rare Japanese Sports Car

Video purportedly depicts N.J. fire chief defacing rare Nissan sports car. The owner explains the shocking incident.

Joshua Scolnick, a fire chief in Piscataway, New Jersey, has been charged with 3rd degree criminal mischief after allegedly vandalizing a rare 1995 Nissan Nismo 270R parked next to the firehouse where he works. The video shows him damaging the car’s paintwork and scratching its body.

Mark Bahna, the owner of the sports car, claims that Scolnick was upset about rainwater from his sump pump seeping over to the Arbor Hose Company #1 next door. Bahna, who collects and sells Japanese sports cars, says his car was one of only 30 produced by Nissan in 1995 and holds sentimental value for him.

Bahna’s attorney, Mark Speed, stated that they are exploring all legal options and have reached out to the parties involved in writing. They are waiting for a response to the situation and will take action accordingly. The incident has caused a stir in the community and has left Bahna exploring legal options to address the damage caused to his prized sports car.

Attempts were made to reach out to Scolnick at the firehouse where he works, but there were no responses. Similarly, Piscataway Fire District No. 3 did not respond to messages regarding the incident.
