In honor of National Small Business Week, 15 small businesses from across the country gathered at the U.S. Capitol Building for a Small Business Showcase hosted by the House Committee on Small Business and Chairman Rep. Roger Williams of Texas. Among the attendees were Jason Duff, founder and CEO of Small Nation, and Nick Davis, business development associate, who were joined by Karen Kerrigan, President and CEO of the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council.

Small Nation was proud to be one of the few Ohio-based businesses in attendance at the event, showcasing their work in redeveloping small towns through projects such as Six Hundred Downtown Pizzeria, Brewfontaine craft beer bar, and the Historic Opera Block project in Downtown Bellefontaine. The company’s founders expressed gratitude for being able to share their story with key policymakers on Capitol Hill.

House Speaker Mike Johnson and Majority Whip Tom Emmer also stopped by to recognize Main Street businesses and their contributions to local communities. Karen Kerrigan praised the event as a high-energy gathering with strong attendance from members of Congress and House GOP leadership, thanking entrepreneurs like Jason Duff and Nick Davis for their advocacy efforts.

The Small Business Showcase was an opportunity for small businesses from around the country to come together and celebrate their achievements while also advocating for policies that support growth and success on Main Street.
