PACA Grants Reparation Order to D. DeFranco & Sons, Allowing Business to Continue Operating in Produce Industry.

California Business has PACA Sanctions Lifted by USDA

The Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) has recently issued a reparation order to Parimar Inc., operating as D. DeFranco & Sons, for unpaid produce transactions. This allows the Los Angeles-based company to continue operating in the produce industry.

The officers and major stakeholders of the business, Gerald S. DeFranco, Paul F. DeFranco, and Richard J. DeFranco, are now able to work for or be affiliated with any PACA licensee without restrictions. Failure to comply with PACA orders can result in license suspension or sanctions for unlicensed businesses and restrictions on individuals connected to the business at the time the order is issued. These individuals may not work for or be involved with any PACA licensee without USDA approval.

After a reparation order is fully satisfied and all outstanding payments are made, USDA will remove any restrictions on the individuals associated with the business.
