Tufts University Swimmers Recognized for Academic Excellence and Outstanding Performance in the Pool

College Sports Communicators Select Four Men’s Swimmers for Academic All-District® Teams

Four Tufts University swimmers have been recognized for their academic excellence and outstanding performance in the pool with the 2023-24 Academic All-District® Men’s Swimming & Diving Teams. The recipients, including graduate student Peter LaBarge and juniors Emmett Adams, Charlie Duffy, and Eric Lundgren, excelled both in competition and academics. This honor marks LaBarge’s second consecutive year of recognition.

To be eligible for this award, student-athletes must meet specific criteria such as being key contributors to their team with a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA at their current institution, competing in at least four competitions or placing in the top eight at a conference meet. These requirements were met by Adams, Duffy, Lundgren, and LaBarge who majored in psychology/clinical, human factors engineering, environmental engineering, and biology respectively. They helped Tufts University finish ninth at the NCAA Division III Championships and as the runner-up in the New England Small College Athletic Conference under head coach Adam Hoyt.

The CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes swimming and diving athletes from NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA separately. Academic All-District® honorees will move on to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. The first, second, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on April 24.
