A nine-year-old boy was hit by a motorcycle in Berlin-Pankow and sustained serious injuries. The incident occurred on Friday evening when the boy was standing on a central island on Rosenthaler Weg between Cunistraße and Mühlenstraße, intending to cross the road at a pedestrian crossing. According to the Berlin police, the child did not pay attention to oncoming traffic when he entered the street in the French Buchholz district. A 61-year-old motorcyclist tried to brake in an emergency situation but a collision still occurred, resulting in injuries to the boy’s head and knees. He was taken to the hospital along with his mother, who arrived at the scene of the accident. The nine-year-old is currently being treated as an inpatient, with concerns about a possible traumatic brain injury.
