Pierce County Sheriff’s Office Recovers Stolen Business Truck, Community Rallies to Assist Owner

Deputies in Pierce County locate stolen truck belonging to Tacoma business owner

A Tacoma business owner, Ron Baker, was devastated after his box truck, which contained all of his gutter business tools and equipment, was stolen from his property on Friday night. It seemed like he would have to start from scratch. However, on Monday night there was some good news as the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office informed KIRO 7 that the truck had been recovered. Unfortunately, it is unclear if all of Baker’s tools were still inside the truck.

The truck was found during a response to an unwanted person call on 72nd Avenue South in Roy. Deputies discovered a man sleeping inside the truck and soon realized that it had been stolen. The man was then arrested for the theft. KIRO 7 is currently gathering more details about how the truck was found and the condition of the tools inside.

In light of this difficult situation, a GoFundMe page has been set up to assist Baker in purchasing new tools and equipment for his business. The community is rallying behind Baker and showing support for a small business owner in need. Despite the uncertainty of whether any of the stolen equipment has been recovered yet, Baker can take comfort in knowing that he has the support of his community behind him as he rebuilds his business from scratch.
