Russian Missile Strikes Leave 21 Missiles Destroyed and Devastate Ukrainian Psychiatric Hospitals and Energy Infrastructure

Thermal power plant and psychiatric hospital in Ukraine damaged by Russian missile attack

On the night of April 27, Russian troops launched a combined missile strike on Ukraine. According to Nikolai Oleshchuk, commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russian forces used 34 air, ground, and sea-based missiles in their attack. The types of missiles used included cruise missiles, guided air missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, aeroballistic missiles and others.

The Ukrainian side reported that 21 Russian missiles were destroyed during the attack. Unfortunately, one of the rockets hit the third psychiatric hospital in Kharkov. This resulted in damage to buildings including windows, roofs and interior decorations. A woman was injured as a result of the attack.

Russian troops also targeted energy infrastructure in Lviv, Dnepropetrovsk and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. Multiple facilities were damaged leading to interruptions in water supply and power outages. Some fires were also started due to these attacks.

DTEK, the Ukrainian energy company reported that four of their thermal power plants were attacked by Russian troops. There were multiple reports of fires along with injuries to individuals working at these facilities. The fires were extinguished and damage was assessed in the affected regions. Overall, the missile strikes caused significant damage and casualties in various parts of Ukraine.
