The nominees for Upstate High School Boys Athlete of the Week from April 29 to May 5 have been announced. The polls will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, and multiple votes are allowed. Last week’s winner was Landrum baseball player Titus Poore, who received over 5,000 votes.
Carson Boleman of Southside Christian pitched a complete game and struck out 17 batters in a 6-3 victory over Lewisville in the baseball playoffs. Wilfer Bustamante from J.L. Mann scored two goals in a 3-2 soccer win against Clover in the Upper State semifinals. Chansen Cole of Boiling Springs pitched a shutout, allowing four hits and striking out seven, while also scoring the winning run in a 1-0 victory over Woodmont.
