Unveiling Health Challenges: WVU Health Affairs Institute’s MATCH Survey Tackles Community Needs Across West Virginia

Discover West Virginians’ health status in each county using the latest MATCH data tool | E-News

The Mountain State Assessment of Trends in Community Health survey team, established in 2020 by the WVU Health Affairs Institute, has been dedicated to understanding the health and well-being challenges faced by West Virginia residents. The main objective of this survey is to help the state’s Department of Human Services identify and address the critical health needs of all 55 counties in West Virginia.

The survey provides comprehensive and representative health data for each county in the state, which is made publicly available to local health departments, non-profit organizations, and other community-serving entities. This information allows these organizations to better understand the health needs of their communities and develop targeted interventions and programs to address them effectively.

Currently, the 2023 MATCH survey is underway, with data collection continuing until May 2024. It’s important to note that all survey responses are completely confidential and will not be linked to individual participants or their households. This ensures that participants can provide honest and accurate information without concerns about their privacy being compromised.
