This Sunday, Dia del Niño offers free admission to Denver Museum of Nature & Science

On Sunday, April 28, the Mexican Cultural Center and Denver Museum of Nature and Science will be hosting Dia del Niño, a celebration of childhood that features music, dance, and various activities. This national holiday in Mexico has its roots dating back 100 years and is an important reminder of the special place children hold in Latino and Mexican culture.

Rachel Garcia, Executive Director of the Mexican Cultural Center, emphasizes the importance of this event in promoting cultural awareness and appreciation for children. The event is free and offers half off admission to the “Orcas” exhibit and Planetarium shows.

Maya Youcef-Toumi, Bilingual Program Coordinator at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, describes Dia del Niño as a dynamic, energetic day filled with excitement and fun for all ages. It’s a multi-generational celebration that highlights the unique cultural aspects that make it such a special occasion.

This event serves as a reminder to celebrate children and the cultural heritage that makes Dia del Niño a memorable experience for everyone who attends. Doors open at 9 am at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science for this community celebration.
