New Dean of Michigan Tech’s College of Forest Resources and Environmental Sciences Poised to Lead College into the Future

David Flaspohler appointed as Dean of Michigan Tech’s College of Forest Resources and Environmental Science

David Flaspohler has been appointed as the new Dean of the College of Forest Resources and Environmental Sciences at Michigan Technological University. He was selected after an extensive national search and has been serving as the interim dean since 2022. Flaspohler has been teaching at the university since 1998 and holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Wildlife Ecology and a Master of Science in Conservation Biology and Sustainable Development from the University of Wisconsin.

Andrew Storer, the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, expressed gratitude to the search committee for their efforts in identifying qualities in Flaspohler that will benefit the college. The university believes that Flaspohler’s experience and expertise make him the ideal candidate to lead the College of Forest Resources and Environmental Sciences into the future.
