Philippines National Oil Corporation Partners with WindStream Energy Technologies for Hybrid Renewable Solutions in Small Island Communities

WindStream and PNOC Collaborate on Hybrid Renewable Technology Project in the Philippines

The Philippines National Oil Corporation (PNOC) has partnered with WindStream Energy Technologies India Pvt Ltd., a leading renewable energy solutions provider in India, to implement hybrid renewable technology systems in the country. Through this collaboration, PNOC and WindStream aim to provide sustainable and accessible energy solutions to small island communities across the nation.

WindStream Energy Technologies has developed a hybridization technology system that integrates solar and wind energy systems in a modular and scalable energy solution. PNOC stated that this technology is capable of integrating solar energy and wind turbine wind magnet generators, making it an ideal solution for small power utility groups in off-grid areas.

The SolarMill technology developed by WindStream Energy Technologies is expected to expedite the government’s electrification objective due to its compact size, making it easier to deploy and install in remote areas. This collaboration is also anticipated to strengthen the hybridization program of the National Power Corporation (NPC) for its small power utility group in off-grid areas.

By combining diesel-powered generation with solar and wind power, this initiative aims to improve energy access and sustainability in off-grid communities. PNOC serves as the corporate arm of the Department of Energy and oversees the exploration of the Philippines’ indigenous oil and the development of all energy resources.
