Duplantis breaks his own pole vault World Record once more at Xiamen Diamond League

At the Xiamen Diamond League meeting, Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis of Sweden set a new world record in the pole vault discipline. The 24-year-old athlete broke his own previous record of 6.23 meters by clearing a height of 6.24 meters on his first attempt at the Egret Stadium. This improvement of just 1cm from his previous record showcases Duplantis’ impressive skill and consistency in the field.

Duplantis began the competition at a height of 5.62 meters and smoothly cleared heights of 5.82m and 6.00m before ultimately achieving the new world record. This achievement marks his eighth world record in pole vaulting, further cementing his status as one of the best athletes in this discipline.

Following Duplantis, American Sam Hendricks finished in second place with a best height of 5.82 meters, while Bokai Huang from China secured third place with a height of 5.72m. Despite their impressive performances, they were unable to match Duplantis’ skill and consistency on this day.
