Iraqi Government Addresses Impact of Recent Rainfall

On Saturday, Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani convened a meeting to discuss the impact of recent rains. The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including the Ministers of Interior and Trade, the Mayor of Baghdad, the General Coordinator for Governorate Affairs, the Deputy Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, and representatives from various ministries.

During the meeting, al-Sudani received a detailed briefing on how the recent rains had affected services and agricultural lands in Iraq. The primary goal of the meeting was to assess damage accurately and develop strategies to contain and address it effectively. Al-Sudani also discussed with attendees how challenging weather conditions during harvesting operations and service projects have impacted government operations.
