Global Biodiversity Conservation: Unpacking the Challenges and Solutions

SOS: Global Efforts to Preserve Biodiversity (Rebroadcast)

In the last 50 years, efforts have been made worldwide to address challenges facing plants and animals, including invasive species, pollution, and climate change. These issues are directly linked to human activities. Despite these efforts, there is still much work to be done in conservation.

One inspiring story of wildlife recovery can be found in Gorongosa National Park. This recovery not only benefits wildlife but also has positive impacts on local communities. However, international organizations like IPBES, COP 15, and CITES dedicated to biodiversity conservation may not always align with individual countries’ conservation plans.

The big question remains – how can these organizations work together effectively to preserve global biodiversity? What challenges do they face in doing so? As we conclude our series “SOS: Save Our Species,” we delve into the complexities of global biodiversity conservation efforts.
