On Thursday, the Helsinki Stock Exchange was buzzing with activity as numerous listed companies released their earnings reports. Despite this, Neste’s shares dropped by almost 8 percent, making them one of the biggest losers on the day. Kesko’s B-series shares also experienced a significant decline of almost six percent, while Kempower’s shares were down more than six percent.
The reason behind these price drops was attributed to worse-than-expected earnings announcements. However, amidst all this negativity, there were some positive outcomes as well. Construction company SRV saw its share prices rise by more than 5 percent after reporting better-than-expected results. Forest giants UPM and Stora Enso also experienced strong growth, with their shares increasing by well over 4 percent.
Despite the general index falling by 0.9 percent by midday, investors and traders remained closely monitoring the various companies and their earnings announcements throughout the day. Overall, it was a minor success for the Helsinki Stock Exchange on Thursday, but there were still some bright spots amidst the challenges.
