Nuggets Superfan Files Lawsuit Against Kroenke Sports and Entertainment Over Ban: Fan Believes it’s Part of a Scheme to Resell Season Tickets at Higher Price

Denver Nuggets superfan banned from attending games at Ball Arena sues Kroenke Sports for discrimination

A lawsuit has been filed by Vicki Ray, a Denver Nuggets superfan who has been banned from attending games at Ball Arena, against Kroenke Sports and Entertainment. Ray, 72, has been a season ticket holder for 32 years and is one of the most recognizable Nuggets fans. She has had the same seats for 25 years located along the walkway used by the Nuggets to enter the court.

According to Jennifer McRae, a digital media producer with over 25 years of experience in news, Ray believes that her behavior at games has always been in accordance with the NBA Fan Code of Conduct. She suspects that her ban is part of a scheme to resell her season tickets at a higher price due to the increasing demand for Denver Nuggets tickets. By being banned from the arena for Nuggets games, Ray is forced to give up the four seats she purchased for $20,000.

The lawsuit filed in Denver District Court accuses Kroenke Sports and Entertainment of breach of contract, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, violation of the Colorado Consumer Protection Act, and intentional or reckless infliction of emotional distress. The complaint alleges that Kroenke Sports and Entertainment failed to uphold its contractual obligations by banning Ray from attending games at Ball Arena without any prior warning or explanation. It also accuses Kroenke Sports and Entertainment of violating Ray’s rights under Colorado law by intentionally or recklessly inflicting emotional distress on her through this ban.
